Palestine has reunited. The leaders of Fatah and Hamas who were at war earlier signed an agreement for reconciliation in Cairo. This agreement was joined by 11 of the most major Palestinian factions, including Islamic Jihad.

After all, the agreement was officially sanctioned by the presence of not only the foreign ministers of Turkey and Egypt, the leaders of the Arab League and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, but also the United Nations officials, as well as head of European diplomacy Catherine Ashton.

Whatever the case is, the events apparently were not in agreement with the plans of Tel Aviv. Perhaps the Israelis, whose security services to a large extent worked on the instigation of the Palestinian strife, did not believe in the possibility of concluding such an agreement until the last minute

That is why there is no peace for the last almost seventy years. Israel is not ready to face and see reality but hide behind its own myths.

The "reunion" of the Palestinian factions repairs a big impediment to an agreement with Israel. But it also insures (because of the Palestinian militant groups' philosophies) that the Palestinians will never recognize the legal, Sovereign Jewish State of Israel or sign a peace treaty. Until agreement that those two Israeli conditions can be met, there will be no peace.

will never recognize the legal, Sovereign Jewish State of Israel
No they won't, simply because no such entity exists and no one have asked them to recognize YOUR imaginary construct.

After spending several minutes looking on my atlas, I can't seem to find any place called Sovereign Jewish State of Israel. I did find this little area called Israel, but no place like Kevin mentioned.

Curt, Marvalden,
Those are Prime Minister Netanyahu's words to describe the nature of the Israeli State.
The United Nations created the State of Israel for the Jewish people. It is a legal and sovereign entity. So, I guess Mr. Netanyahu can describe his country however he wants. Also, that is the way in which the Palestinians must recognize Israel, if the Palestinians want any land for a country of their own. It won't cost the Palestinians a dime to use those words, but failure to do so will mean enduring additional settlements and occupation. Say the words, Mr. Abbas, and be done with it.
