After a recent increase in Israeli settler attacks against Palestinian civilians, property and holy sites, the UN envoy Richard Falk arrived in the West Bank this weekend to begin an eleven-day tour of the Palestinian Territories to examine the situation.

The tour comes in the midst of unity talks between the two main Palestinian political parties, Hamas and Fateh, including a meeting over the weekend between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, with the Fateh party, and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal in Qatar.

In his tour of the West Bank and Gaza, which began Friday, Falk has been gathering evidence and testimony to use in his June report to the United Nations Human Rights Council.

I wonder if the Settlers will be less criminal during his 11 day tour.

I doubt it, if they find out who he is and why he is there, he'll get some rocks and foul language tossed his way. They attack anyone who is there to help the Palestinians, they don't care who they are, especially anyone who is there to document their criminal behavior.

It's too bad the fanatical settlers can't be more like these settlers. It is possible for the Palestinians and settlers to co-exist:

I am sure as usual Israeli government will defend the illegal settlers instead of taking action to stop their madness of violence against unarmed innocent Palistinians.

These settlers are a feisty bunch, they attack tourists and Journalists while yelling, "This is my land get out!" They are very protective of the land they steal.

I agree, but my point is if they behave, then the UN investigator may release a favorable report. That'll be almost as useful for hasbara as was the results of their campaign against Judge Goldstone...

I understood your point Hippocrates, but they won't behave. They haven't yet, not with all the activists and Human Rights organizations documenting their criminal behavior. They don't care. They are completely lawless. Just read the daily news reports to see they haven't curbed their criminal behavior one bit since Falk arrived this past weekend. They've been at it for decades, no one has stopped them yet.

Who are these people and where are they coming from? Do they have a leader, a political ideology. What is there motive for these lawless attacks. And why are we just getting to hear it now?

That's why I had to use the quantifier "if", G-d knows they won't keep themselves circumscribed and within due bounds. It's not like there is a commandment outright forbidding murder, theft, or coveting they neighbors' land...

Do you mean who are the settlers? Here's wiki on "Israeli settlements" for starters.

That's been re-evaluated.

Falk filed a report yesterday. He called for international intervention on behalf of Khader Adnan.

No doubt the report has already been written and he is just going through the motions for a photo op. He is from the U.N. you know.

The same UN that drew up the final Partition plans and recognized Israel? Funny how the UN is only relevant when it supported Israel's existence, but never when its reports or resolutions negatively portray Israel's actions.

The UN also recognized an arab state in fact the UN gave 77% of all the land to the Arabs and Israel got only 23%.

When the Arabs in 1948 collectively attacked Israel that basically VOIDED THERE CLAIM TO ANY LAND.

MAYBE NEXT TIME THE ARABS WILL CHOOSE TO LIVE IN PEACE INSTAEAD OF TRYING TO DRIVE THE JEWS INTO THE SEA.
